The Executing Process Group consists of those processes performed to complete the work defined in the project management plan to satisfy the project requirements. PMBOK 6

The processes in Executing Process Group deal with the completion of the work defined in the Project Management Plan which is completed and approved by the stakeholders at the end of the project planning phase. It involves coordinating resources like people, equipment and resources to get the work done efficiently and effectively so that the project keeps delivering the promised objective.

The most important output here is the Deliverable, which is produced in line with the defined Project Management Plan.

This process is where most of the work is carried out, and where products and deliverables are built, assembled, constructed, and created.

Behind every successful project is a great team and a good team is a direct result of a good environment which is based on trust and competencies and capabilities rather than anything else. The team has to be acquired, managed and cultivated for performance. Conflicts, they are healthy if solved amicably by using the right conflict resolution method

The Executing process group utilizes the most project time and resources, and as a result, costs are usually highest during the Executing process.

During the execution process, Changes will also be implemented but only those which are Approved by the management or change control board or by the steering committee.

In short, the Executing process involves coordinating people and resources, as well as integrating and performing the activities of the project in accordance with the project plan. The main outputs the project deliverables and producing these will be the responsibility of the project team who will be working to the project plan.

This is the stage where deliverables are created and completed. This frequently refers to the meat of the project because multiple tasks are happening during this period such as status information and conferences, growth updates, and performance reports. Here an important meeting typically marks the beginning of the Project Execution phase where the project management team is informed about their responsibilities. Some of the key tasks completed in this phase include developing a team, assigning resources, implementing project management plans, and procurement management if required.
